Meet Dr. McKenzie Sorensen
Dr. McKenzie Sorensen is a San Diego native whose path to dentistry began in an unexpected place. After earning her BA in Anthropology from Rice University—where studying human history and evolution first sparked her curiosity about oral health—she went on to complete her DDS at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and a General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
Dr. Sorensen is a proud member of the San Diego County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. She’s known for her thoughtful, biomimetic technique and her love of restorative challenges, as well as the honesty and humor that help put patients at ease.
When she’s not in the office, you can usually find her with her husband, children, and their three cats. She’s passionate about painting, reading, lifting weights, and yoga—activities that keep her balanced and energized.
